The public was excluded from the part of the hearing at which the parties discussed whether witness S2 would testify in presence of public, but the present journalists were not informed whether the proposal was accepted or not.

Prior to the exclusion of public, Prosecutor Seid Marusic said that the witness requested that the public be excluded and that he testify in a separate room.

Borislav Jamina, Defence attorney of indictee Sekaric, said that the Defence did not see any reasons for excluding the public.

“I want everything to be public,” indictee Sekaric said.

Sekaric, former member of the Territorial Defence and “Osvetnik” (“Avenger”) paramilitary formation, is charged with having participated in an attack on Lozje village, Gorazde municipality, as well as the murders, rape and physical abuse of non-Serb civilians in Visegrad.

Considering the fact that more than 30 days have passed since the last hearing, the trial of Sekaric formally began anew, but both the Prosecution and Defence agreed that the 20 State Prosecution witnesses, who had already been examined, would not be invited again and that the previously presented pieces of material evidence would be accepted.

According to the official schedule of hearings held before the State Court, the continuation of Sekaric’s trial is scheduled for August 25.
